About ICA

The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) is the association that represents Canada’s communication and advertising agencies. Advertising Week
Advertising Week was founded to galvanize the industry and to seize the benefits of a dedicated platform to tell the good stories about advertising. The event is Canada’s largest and most diverse annual gathering of advertising and media leaders ever held in the country. Built on the fundamental commitment to celebrate ideas and creativity, Advertising Week is about inspiring young people to join the craft, focusing the industry and public-at-large on the business-building impact of advertising, and shining a bright light on the on economic impact of advertising. http://www.advertisingweek.ca

CAAP – The Accreditation Program for Communication Professionals
ICA’s CAAP accreditation program is a recognized industry standard in Canada, uniquely designed to reflect the complex business challenges of the marketing communications industry. With the goal of inspiring strategic creativity in a new era of marketing communications, CAAP is an essential development program for agency executives, marketing professionals and communications specialists who have at least 2-3 years’ work experience. The program reflects new media learning and best practices that are associated with building effective consumer/brand engagement. Drawing on a combination of up-to-date, real-world insight and case-based examples, CAAP graduates gain the background, confidence and credentials they need to make their mark as exceptional brand communicators. http://www.caapcanada.ca/

CASSIES
The CASSIES is the only Canadian organization dedicated to recognizing, rewarding and improving the business effectiveness of advertising. This is highlighted by the annual CASSIES Awards, which are based on rigorous case histories of success – subsequently published in our Case Library as part of an accumulating body of knowledge. http://www.cassies.ca/home.asp

Agency Search
ICA’s Agency Search is being well-utilized by a wide variety of companies who are embarking on agency searches, ensuring they are conducted using ICA’s best practices. Over the past year, ICA has assisted over a dozen more advertisers, including Wal-Mart, Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum, Miele, The Canadian Bar Association, Barrett Xplore, Jean Tweed Charity, Wine Council of Ontario, Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Habitat for Humanity Halton and La Cité Collègiale. http://www.agencysearch.ca
